「題目があがらなかった仏壇屋」が原点 / It began with an altar dealer who could not chant
四十年以上、創価学会の仏壇を売ってきました。仏壇に囲まれて暮らしながら、当の私自身が、長いあいだ心から題目をあげられなかった。六十六歳、すべてが行き詰まったとき、ようやく気づいたのです。「あげなきゃいけない。その”誰か”は自分だ」と。
御本尊は「虚空会の儀式」。仏壇はそのステージ / The Gohonzon is the Ceremony in the Air
御本尊とは何か。一歩踏み込むと、法華経の「虚空会（こくうえ）の儀式」にたどり着きます。日蓮大聖人が命がけで一幅の曼荼羅に留めてくださった、その儀式です。ならば仏壇は、その儀式を演出する”ステージ”であっていい——。そう考えて生まれたのが、虚空厨子です（商標登録「仏壇革命 虚空厨子」）。
仏壇が題目をあげるのではない。あげるのはあなた / The altar does not chant — you do
虚空厨子を置いたから題目があがる、という話ではありません。私は「題目があがる仏壇」を作りました。あとは、あなた次第です。御本尊も同じ。すでにご安置された御本尊に、あなたが題目をあげればいい。今朝は気づけば一万一千遍まで唱えていました。生命力は下から湧き上がる。だからこそ——レッツ！題目！
🌏 English Section — The Kokū Zushi
For over forty years I sold Soka Gakkai altars, yet for most of that time I myself could not chant daimoku from the heart. At sixty-six, pushed to the very edge, I finally understood: someone had to chant — and that someone was me.
Reflecting on what the Gohonzon truly is, I returned to the Ceremony in the Air of the Lotus Sutra. The Gohonzon is that very ceremony, which Nichiren Daishonin sought out at the risk of his life and inscribed into a single mandala. So I asked myself: shouldn’t a Buddhist altar be a stage for that ceremony? From that question, the Kokū Zushi was born — trademark registered as “Butsudan Revolution — Kokū Zushi.”
One thing must be clear. Owning a Kokū Zushi does not make your daimoku rise. I created an altar where daimoku can rise; the rest is up to you — just as your Gohonzon is already enshrined, and all that remains is for you to sit before it and chant.
Today my chanting passed 10.88 million daimoku, on the way to 100 million. Daimoku draws life-force up from within, and it cannot be held back. So — Let’s Daimoku! Our Kokū Zushi studio is in Koga, Ibaraki, Japan, and we ship worldwide to SGI members. You are always welcome.
