Good morning. Thank you for watching this morning daimoku testimony. I’m Yukihiro Shima from Oubaitori.com.
Every morning, I chant 10,000 times Namu-Myoho-Renge-Kyo. This testimony comes from real thoughts and experiences during that practice.
What Did You Stop Doing? How Evolution Stops
The root is daimoku. That’s why, every single day, I challenge myself. That’s why I keep evolving.
Are you evolving every day? Or do you feel that evolution has stopped?
Everyone has different opinions and different ways of thinking. But my own experience tells me this: I want to evolve by 1mm every day. That kind of life feels more full.
When I keep chanting every morning, I realize something deep in my heart—evolution upon evolution happens because daimoku is the root. It’s not just Buddhist philosophy. It’s something I feel in the core of my being.
What have you stopped doing? What is stopping your own evolution?
When a Grandchild Stays Over for the First Time Alone
Yesterday, my grandchild—a second-grader—spent the night at our home alone for the first time. This morning, when they came downstairs, I said, “You told me yesterday—staying at Grandpa and Grandma’s house all by yourself was your dream. Your dream came true! How wonderful!”
But this morning, even when my grandchild speaks to me, I just keep chanting. The child watches. The child sees how I act—how I respond when they speak, even as I’m chanting.
I simply chant, steady and calm. When they speak to me, I answer them. But in the end, the child goes quiet.
Three Generations, One Roof, One Heart
Their dream came true. They slept upstairs with us. And when they wake up, Grandpa is always chanting. This is how I show my grandchild the power of daimoku—the image of me chanting, the image of a grandfather who keeps evolving every day.
I’m truly grateful for that.
Let’s chant.
