As I approach the milestone of 10 million Daimoku this coming Monday, I am filled with profound gratitude and a new, fiery determination: “To continue chanting until the age of 100!”

The Importance of “Root Cause” Maintenance

I recently switched to a new dental clinic with advanced technology and highly skilled young professionals. The experience was eye-opening.

While my previous dentist only provided symptomatic treatment—fixing only what was already broken—the new doctor said:
“Mr. Shima, let’s look at the whole picture. Let’s rebuild everything from the root so you can keep your healthy teeth for a lifetime.”

Unexpectedly, they found 7 hidden cavities. This taught me a vital lesson: the danger of complacency and the immense benefit of having the courage to change one’s environment.

Chanting 120 Million Daimoku by Age 99

Faith is the same. Every day, we must maintain and polish our own lives. Keeping our bodies healthy is “wisdom” for the sake of Kosen-rufu.
