🍻 居酒屋でノンアル乾杯！旧友の心を震わせた夜の語らい
Sober Toast at a Pub! An Evening Dialogue That Shook an Old Friend’s Heart
昨日、東京からはるばる愛車を運転してお店（桜梅桃李）に来店してくれた小学校の旧友。
昼の部で熱く仏法の真髄を語り合った後、彼は近所のビジネスホテルへと一度チェックインに向かいました。
Yesterday, an old elementary school friend drove all the way from Tokyo to visit my shop (Oubaitori). After a passionate dialogue about the essence of Buddhism during the day, he headed to a nearby hotel to check in.
そして、いよいよお楽しみの「夜の部（夕食会）」へと突入！
実は私たち2人とも、すでに「アルコールを卒業」しておりまして（笑）、居酒屋に入りながらも「ノンアルコール」で最高の乾杯を交わしました。そこからさらに、深く熱い語り合いが始まったのです。
Then, we finally entered the eagerly awaited “Evening Session” (dinner)! Actually, both of us have already “graduated from alcohol” (laughs), so we shared a wonderful toast with non-alcoholic drinks at the pub. From there, an even deeper and more passionate conversation began.
その席で、旧友は私に向かって本当に嬉しい、感動的な言葉を語ってくれました。
「島君、今日は本当に会えて嬉しかった。心から感動したよ」
「世間一般で言われている宗教のイメージとは違って、日蓮大聖人の仏法、そして創価学会の教えの本質が何なのか、島君の今やっている行動や、お店で色々なことを見せてもらったことで、少し分かった気がする。本当に素晴らしいと思ったよ」
At the table, my old friend told me words that truly filled me with joy and emotion: “Shima, I am so glad to meet you today. I am deeply moved from the bottom of my heart.” “Unlike the conventional image of religion in society, seeing your current actions and the various things you showed me at your shop made me feel like I understand a bit about what the essence of Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism and Soka Gakkai’s teachings really are. I think it’s truly wonderful.”
💡 令和新時代の仏法対話：ただ「ありのまま」を分かち合う
Buddhist Dialogue in the New Reiwa Era: Simply Sharing “As It Is”
彼は今、まさに人生の大きな転機（ステージ）に立っていると言っていました。
だからこそ、「今日の島君との対話はとても勉強になったし、ものすごく刺激を受けた。この夏、だいたい1ヶ月後くらいに、また必ずここに来たいと思っているんだ！」と、次回の約束まで自発的にしてくれたのです。
He mentioned that he is currently standing at a major turning point (stage) in his life. That is why he spontaneously promised to return, saying, “Today’s conversation with you taught me so much and gave me tremendous inspiration. This summer, in about a month, I definitely want to come back here again!”
では、どのようにして彼の気持ちをここまで惹きつけ、仏法の素晴らしさを届けることができたのでしょうか？
振り返ってみると、私は彼に対して何一つ無理強いをしていません。「ああしろ、こうしろ」という強要は一切なく、もちろん彼を批判するようなことも全くありません。同じ学び舎で育った大切な親友として、一人の人間として最大に尊重し、尊びながら、同じ目線で語り合っただけです。
So, how was I able to captivate his heart and deliver the greatness of Buddhism to this extent? Looking back, I did not force anything upon him. There was absolutely no coercion like “do this or do that,” and of course, no criticism at all. As a dear friend who grew up in the same school, I simply respected and cherished him to the utmost as a human being, speaking with him at the same eye level.
ただただ、自分が純粋に御題目を唱えているということ、日々情熱を持って活動していること、そして「題目で自分の潜在能力を爆発させているんだ！」という姿を、ありのままに話しただけなのです。
I simply shared “as it is”—how I purely chant Daimoku, conduct my daily activities with passion, and explode my latent potential through prayer.

そしてもう一つ、大きな驚きと確信がありました。
彼はAmazonの会員なのですが、なんと私と会う前に、すでに私の著書（『レッツ！題目』など）を事前に少し読んでからお店に来てくれていたのです！
さらに、「今度はもっとちゃんと、最初から最後までしっかり読み込んでから、もう一度ここに来るよ」とまで言ってくれました。
And there was another major surprise and conviction. He is an Amazon member, and to my amazement, he had already read a portion of my book (“Let’s Daimoku!”) before coming to the shop! He even added, “Next time, I’ll read it thoroughly from cover to cover before I visit you again.”
やはり、自分の体験や確信をこうしてYouTubeで発信し、書籍として「記録に残していくこと」は、相手に真実を伝えていくための最大のきっかけになると強く確信いたしました。
デジタル資産を通じた発信こそが、現代におけるお互いの価値観を共有し、精神的な変革をもたらす強力な架け橋となります。
This experience strongly reinforced my conviction that broadcasting my experiences and convictions on YouTube and keeping them “recorded” in books serve as the ultimate catalyst for conveying the truth. Expressing via digital assets forms a powerful bridge that shares mutual values and brings about spiritual transformation in the modern age.
