おはようございます。島でございます。

今朝も、お題目１万遍の時間をいただきました。体はまだ少しだるさを感じているのに、朝になると自然と目が覚めてしまいます。それは、朝が嬉しいからなんです。お題目を上げられることが、嬉しくてしょうがない。

Good morning. This is Shima.

This morning, I again devoted time to chanting 10,000 Daimoku. My body still feels a little sluggish, yet I wake up naturally every morning — because I am simply delighted that a new morning has come. I am overjoyed to be able to chant.

唱題の中で起こること
What Happens During Chanting

唱えていると、今まさに自分の生命の中でチャレンジしていることが、すーっと流れてきます。それが精査されて、「こちらの方向に向かったら輝くよ」という感覚を御本尊とやり取りできる。

この体験は、やはり別格です。感動、感謝、歓喜——この三つの言葉しか見当たりません。この時間を毎朝いただけることが、心から嬉しい。だから自然と目が覚めてしまうのです。

As I chant, the challenges I am facing in my life flow smoothly to the surface. They become clarified, and I sense the Gohonzon telling me: “Moving in this direction will make you shine.”

This experience is truly in a class of its own. The only words I can find are inspiration, gratitude, and joy. I am sincerely grateful to receive this time every morning — and that is why I wake up naturally.

御本尊と自分の生命
The Gohonzon and Your Own Life

御本尊は、自分自身の生命そのものです。ただ、自分一人では、その仕組みがなかなか発動しない。目の前の仏壇に御本尊があることで、そこに最大の価値が生まれます。

自分の生命の中には、まだ発揮されていない能力や可能性が、必ずあります。問題は、引き出せていないことです。だからこそ、御本尊が必要なのです。

The Gohonzon is nothing other than your own life itself. However, on your own, that mechanism rarely activates. When the Gohonzon is enshrined in your butsudan before you, the greatest value comes to life.

Within your life, there are abilities and possibilities that have yet to be expressed. The challenge is that they cannot be drawn out on their own. That is precisely why the Gohonzon is necessary.

唱題は、自問自答
Chanting Is a Deep Dialogue with Yourself

唱題とは、ある意味で深い自問自答です。御本尊は宇宙の生命を一幅のマンダラに解き明かしたもの。その御本尊に、今の悩みや限界をぶつけながら唱え続けていくと、氷が溶けるように、氷山の中に眠っていたものが少しずつ発揮されてきます。

ぜひ、朝のお題目の時間を大切になさってみてください。

In a sense, chanting is a profound dialogue with yourself. The Gohonzon reveals the life of the universe in a single Mandala. When you direct your current worries and limitations toward it and keep chanting, what has been sleeping inside you — like a vast iceberg — gradually emerges, as if the ice is slowly melting.

Please cherish the time you spend chanting Daimoku each morning.
