This morning I turned to Daimoku, as I always do. Last week was truly a week of miracles — Monday, Tuesday, and now Wednesday, each miracle connecting clearly to the next drama, in a way I can feel settling into real life. Today, let me share what I was taught again through it: the faith of holding conviction in the world we cannot see.

Your prayer is being built where you cannot see
When we chant Daimoku, our prayers may not look answered in the visible world right away. And yet, in the world we cannot see, they are steadily being built — one by one. On Monday and Tuesday, each thing that happened connected clearly to the next. When that settled into reality, I felt it: “It had been building all along, where I couldn’t see.” To hold conviction in that unseen world — this, I feel, is the very heart of faith.
The protective forces surround us
Lately, curiously, I feel as though the shoten zenjin — the protective forces — are gathered around me, waiting, supporting me in the best possible way. I am never striving alone. The more I layer my prayers, the more an unseen working pushes me forward. Because I hold that conviction, I can add one more effort, keep going, and move ahead without giving up.
Like planting a seed, watering it, giving it sun
Faith closely resembles sowing seeds. You plant the seed, water it, give it sunlight, add nourishment — and only then does a sprout quietly appear. Some sprouts are visible; some are still unseen. What matters is to hold conviction, all the way, in what you yourself have decided and prayed for. When you hold that conviction and do all you can, the result rises quietly to the surface. The phenomenon appears — of course it does. I want to pray through, all the way to that certainty. Together again today. Let’s Daimoku!
