How My Grandson’s Words Transformed My Daimoku
｜題目1万遍1,077回目の朝
Every morning, I chant Daimoku 10,000 times.
Today was Day 1,077 of that journey.
🌟 One Innocent Comment Changed Everything
｜孫の一言が、唱題を変えた
My young grandson looked at me and said:
“Grandpa! It sounds like you’re saying
‘Nande ya nen!’ (What the heck!)”
「ジィジ！なんでやねん、に聞こえるよ！」
I burst out laughing — but it hit me deeply.
My Nam in Nam-myoho-renge-kyo was unclear,
mumbled, rushed.
思わず笑いながらも、ハッと気づかされました。
南無妙法蓮華経の「ナム」が、
「なんでやねん」に聞こえていた——。
From that moment, I made a conscious shift:
to chant each syllable
clearly, deliberately, with full articulation.
それから私は意識を変えました。
一音一音を、明瞭に、滑舌よく唱える。
📖 My Prayer Became a “Table of Contents”
｜祈りが「本の目次」に見えた
The moment I began chanting with clear diction,
something extraordinary happened.
My prayer felt like the
table of contents of my own life story
— each vow, each prayer, each determination
appearing clearly, one by one,
from the depths of my life.
滑舌よく唱題した瞬間、不思議な感覚に
包まれました。
私の祈りが、まるで自分の人生ドラマを綴った
「一冊の本の目次」のように、
整然と、命の奥から響き渡ってきたのです。
