Good morning. I hope you’re doing well today. This is Shima from Oubaitori. This is the Morning Daimoku — 10,000 Daimoku a Day journal, entry #1,191.
Sometimes our destiny piles up and hits us all at once. That’s what I’d like to talk about today.
“This Too?” — When Things Pile Up
There are times when you think, “Ah, so this is it.”
If it’s just one thing, that’s fine. But sometimes, a little while later, another one comes along — “This too?”
When I really think about what that means, I believe it shows that we are actually taking on a lot of challenges.
Two at Once Is Tough
Still, as someone living each day, if it’s one thing, I can manage.
When two pile up, it’s pretty tough.
Pretty tough. And because it’s tough, I find myself asking: how can I get through this?
That’s when a strength suddenly wells up — like the superhuman strength people find in an emergency.
One? “All right.” Two? “I won’t be beaten.”
So we shouldn’t think, “Just one, please — spare me the rest.”
When one comes, “All right.” When two come, “I won’t be beaten.”
And if possible, when three pile up — “All right, now I’ll show what I’m really made of.” I want to build that kind of bold, strong life force.
Daimoku Is So That, Whatever Happens, We’re All Right
We don’t chant daimoku every day only for that one moment!
Rather, it’s so that at any time, whatever happens, we’re all right. What matters, I believe, is keeping our life force tuned to its fullest every day.
Let’s Daimoku!
I’ll keep taking on today’s challenges too. Have a wonderful day.
Today’s Question
When troubles pile up, can you say, “All right — I won’t be beaten”?
Bloom your own way, at your very best.
