Good morning.
I hope you’re well today.
Bloom your own way, at your very best. ── This is Yukihiro Shima, from Oubaitori.com.
This is my testimony of chanting 10,000 Daimoku each morning.
Today is August 8.
The theme this morning: face the weakness in yourself. Look at it clearly. Refine it. Improve it.
I want to make a fresh start from here.
Weakness is not only “low motivation”
What is your weakness, really?
Low motivation. Mood swings. Yes, those are real. But that is not all.
The true weakness is deeper. It is your nature. The temperament you were born with.
The part you cannot easily see in yourself.
That is the real weakness.
Growing your strengths is powerful. It moves fast. It gets recognized.
The hardest thing is finding the weakness you cannot see.
Daimoku shows you what you couldn’t see
There is a way. It is Daimoku.
When you chant every morning, patterns start to repeat. Somehow, almost the same thing happens again and again.
If it is a good pattern, wonderful.
If it is a bad one, that may be your weakness speaking.
And in the next Daimoku, before the Gohonzon, you notice it.
“Ah, it happened again.”
“That same thing, after all this time.”
“Is this really who I want to be?”
The place where you notice — that may be the weakness.
That one point is where karma turns
Improve that one point.
That, in my own experience, is where karma turns (shukumei tenkan).
Growing strengths is joyful. But karma usually turns at the one point you couldn’t see.
Daimoku, quietly, lights that one point for you.
May today be a day of value creation (kachi sōzō).
Let’s Daimoku!
