It came down hard here in Koga, Ibaraki, and all around us. But we seem to be all right. No trouble.
If you live near a river — anywhere the water rises — please take real care today.
What Chanting Lets Me Feel
Here is what I felt in this morning’s daimoku.
My own heart. Chanting is what lets me feel it move. Only then do I notice all the small motions inside. I felt that again today, freshly.
A good stretch is hard to hold. The balance of it.
When I feel “this is a good time” — that balance is made of many things. Not one thing. I don’t think a single element decides it.
When those things sit together well, I think we sense it. Somewhere inside, we know: this is about right.

Just as the passage says.
And then — how I hold that situation, how I work at it, how I get over it. That is where a person’s effort lies. That is where a person’s faith is decided. That is what I felt this morning.
