おはようございます。一週間ぶりの配信となりました。台風の近づく土曜日の朝、雨が上がった静かな空の下で、今日もまた心を打たれるご縁をいただきました。八十五歳の大先輩、そして過酷な宿命を越えてこられたお二人の壮年部の方々——その生き方から、私自身が大きな励みをいただいた一日でした。

今回、ある八十五歳の大先輩の体験をご紹介させていただきました。年齢を感じさせない、その底知れぬ活動量とバイタリティ。私は今、六十九歳と半年。十五年先に、こんなにも生き生きと輝いておられる先輩がいる——私もそうありたいと、心から思える出会いでした。
宿命を越えたお二人の信心 / Two Members Who Transformed Their Karma
関西と千葉のお若い壮年の方お二人。壮絶な宿命を、すさまじい信心で転換してこられました。このたび当店でお仏壇をお求めくださり、参加型の壮年部の拠点をつくろうと、現実に動き出していらっしゃいます。お一人の信心が、やがて一つの拠点になっていく。その出発点に関わらせていただけたこと、心から感謝しております。

Good morning from Japan. After a week away, I am back with you again. On this quiet Saturday morning—after a typhoon’s rain had passed—I was deeply moved by the people I encountered.
First, an 85-year-old mentor in faith. His energy and the sheer scope of his activity defy his age. I am now sixty-nine and a half, and to see someone fifteen years ahead of me living so vibrantly filled me with hope for my own future.
Second, two younger men—one from Kansai, one from Chiba—who have transformed truly harsh karma through unwavering faith. Both recently received a Buddhist altar from us, and they are now creating a new community hub for fellow members. To witness one person’s faith grow into a gathering place for many, and to play a small part in that beginning, fills me with gratitude.
No matter our age or circumstances, what matters is living this very moment with all our heart. That spirit gave new power to my daimoku today.
