Yesterday, I received a truly wonderful “Kudoku” (conspicuous benefit) that marks a major turning point in my life! I am filled with deep gratitude.

Through the trust built over many years of sincere relationships, and above all, through the power of daily Daimoku, I experienced a miraculous meeting with wonderful people and a very special guest. This can only be described as the profound benefit of chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

■ 仏法における「功徳（くどく）」の真実

The True Meaning of “Kudoku” (Benefit) in Buddhism

皆さまは、仏法で説かれる「功徳」の本当の意味をご存知でしょうか。
御書には次のように明確に説かれています。

Do you know the true meaning of “Kudoku” as taught in Nichiren Buddhism? The Gosho explains:

「悪を滅するを功（く）と言い、善を生ずるを徳（とく）と言うなり」
“The extinguishing of evil is called ‘Ku’ (merit), and the bringing forth of good is called ‘Doku’ (virtue).”

功徳とは、単に目に見える物質的な利益（何か物をもらうなど）のことだけを指すのではありません。

Kudoku does not simply mean receiving material wealth or temporary luck.

功徳とは、自分自身の人生や性格、生命の内側にある「悪（マイナスの働きや、弱気になってしまう心）」を上手に抑えて滅ぼし、自らの生命から「善（プラスの働きや、自分自身の最高の魅力）」を生み出していくことです。

The ultimate benefit is the process of Human Revolution—suppressing the “evil” (negative tendencies and weak minds) within ourselves, and bringing forth the “good” (positive life-force and our highest potential), establishing a perfect inner spiritual balance.

同じ性格や行動であっても、ある時は良く働き、ある時は好ましくない結果になることがありますよね。お題目をあげることで、その生命のバランスがカチッと整い、自分の内側から100%の善の力が引き出されていく。これこそが本当の功徳であり、人間革命のプロセスなのです。

Even with the same personality traits, they can work positively at times and negatively at others. By chanting Daimoku, the spiritual balance is perfectly aligned, and 100% of the power of good is drawn out from within. This is the true benefit and the very process of Human Revolution.

昨日の素晴らしい出会いを通じて、私自身の命が、そして信心が、新しく生まれ変わるような大きな触発とエネルギーをいただきました。

Through yesterday’s golden encounter, my own life and faith received a powerful inspiration, as if being completely reborn.

過去の実績や喜びに安住することなく、私は今日から再び「初心」に戻り、広布とビジネスの大勝利へ向けて、力強く新たな一歩を踏み出してまいります！

Without resting on past achievements, I am returning to the “beginner’s mind” today, taking a powerful new step forward toward absolute victory in both Kosen-rufu and business!
