今朝も、すがすがしい朝からのスタートとなりました。私には、ご本尊の前に座るその“前”に、必ずしていることがあります。今日は、私の朝の「整え方」についてお話しさせてください。

私の朝は、布団の上のストレッチから始まります / My morning begins with stretching in bed
目が覚めると、まずは入念にストレッチをします。お布団に寝転がったまま、ゴロゴロと体をほぐしていくんです。全身の筋肉をほぐし、体のすみずみまで血流を巡らせてから、顔を洗い、髭を剃る。心地よく体が目覚めたところで、ようやくご本尊の前へと向かいます。題目をあげる前に、まず器である「体」を整える。それが毎朝の大切な習慣です。
ご本尊は“虚空会の儀式” / The Gohonzon as the Ceremony in the Air
ご本尊とは、法華経の虚空会の儀式そのものだと、私は受け止めています。だからこそ勤行を「義務」とも「身を清める修行」とも思っていません。この儀式に“参加させていただける”、そのこと自体が嬉しい──そんな思いで座ります。すぐに題目、ではなく、毎朝、生命変革の祈りのシートを一つひとつ読み込み、心と意識を整えてから、勤行・唱題へと入っていきます。
ベストな状態で題目を / Chanting from your very best state
体を整え、心を整え、意識を整える。“ベストな状態”をつくってご本尊に向かい、そのまま現実の世界へと出ていく。唱題のさなか、目の前の課題をはるか高みから見下ろし、時に絶壁のように見ながら、南無妙法蓮華経の一遍一遍で、あらゆる限界を突破していく。私の使命は、全世界に題目の渦を巻き起こすこと。その決意で、今日も唱題いたします。レッツ！題目。今日も、我が人生の歴史を変えてまいります。

Good morning, and I hope you are well. This is Yukihiro Shima from Oubaitori.com. Before I ever sit in front of the Gohonzon, there is something I always do — I prepare myself. Today I’d like to share how I get ready each morning.
It starts with stretching in bed. As soon as I wake, I stretch carefully — rolling gently on my futon, almost like yoga — loosening every muscle and letting my blood flow throughout my body. Only after I wash my face and shave, once my body is comfortably awake, do I go to the Gohonzon. Before chanting, I first prepare the vessel: the body.
The Gohonzon is the Ceremony in the Air. I see the Gohonzon as the very ceremony of the Lotus Sutra. So I don’t approach gongyo as a “duty,” nor as a ritual I must perform to purify myself. Rather, I feel joy that I am allowed to take part in this ceremony. I don’t rush into daimoku; each morning I read through my prayer sheet for changing my life, settling my heart and mind first, and only then enter gongyo and chanting.
Chant from your very best state. I prepare body, heart, and mind, face the Gohonzon in my best state, and step out into daily reality in that same state. While chanting, I look down on the challenges before me from high above — sometimes they rise like a sheer cliff — and with each Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, I break through every limit. My mission is to raise a great tide of daimoku across the whole world. With that vow, I chant again today. Let’s Daimoku! I will keep changing the history of my own life — and I’m sending daimoku for your very best day too.
