Living by My Own Time — The Answer Was to Go Deeper, Not Wider (Morning Daimoku #1,142)

Good morning. I hope you are well today.

Morning Daimoku, ten thousand chants. This is entry number 1,142.

Ride it, or turn away. A large question stood in front of me. I stayed with it until this hour of this morning. I worried. I suffered over it. And I have decided.

Two Days of Wrestling. Then a Decision

What did I decide?
That the time of my life, and the part of me I give to this work, has to stay centered on Oubaitori.com. If it does not, my life force gets scattered. That was the conclusion.

Not business as the foundation. Mission as the axis. And then take the time to carry out the mission only I can carry out.

You may think it strange. I said I ride, and then I did not ride. But for me this was also a step forward. Deciding what you will not take on carries the same weight as deciding what you will.

Not Wider. Deeper, Stronger, Higher

When we hear “a new challenge,” our minds go sideways. Expand. Add more. Increase the number. Mine went there too.

But something became clear this time. To evolve further inside the situation I already have. To go deeper. To become stronger. To raise the level. That is also a way to challenge, and an important one. For my time, right now, it is the one that fits.

Widening and deepening. Neither is nobler than the other. The only question is which one your time is asking for.

From a Life Chased by Errands, to a Life Seeking Truth

So that I may shine at my very best, and so that you may shine at yours, I want to spend my life, my life force, on that.

From a life chased by small errands, to a life that seeks the truth. A large turn of the wheel. That part is hard to put into words, and it is subtle. I examined it for two days, turned it over and over, and finally reached a conclusion.

Where Is the Time of My Life?

Let’s Daimoku. However far I go, the foundation is daimoku.

Where do I place the very last determination of my heart? What kind of time is this, now? Where is the time of my life?
These two days let me pursue that question. Thank you.

The question of time is different for every person. That is exactly why I want to live by my own time, not someone else’s. This is only my own view, so please take it as that.

I hope today is a good day for you.
