With My Wife at the Planetarium, After Decades — A Vow for a Thousand Years Ahead (Morning Daimoku #1,135)

Smiling man in a white shirt with a clip-on mic sits in front of a Japanese event banner with pink and green caption text about space travel and a planetary observatory.

Good morning. Are you well today? Bloom your own way, at your very best. This is Yukihiro Shima, from Oubaitori.com — chanting 10,000 Daimoku each morning.

Yesterday, the shop was closed. Nine of us — our family, together with the four grandchildren — went to the Tochigi Prefectural Children’s Science Museum.

A Journey Through the Universe with My Wife — After Decades, at the Planetarium

My wife and I broke off from the group for about 50 minutes and went to the planetarium — the first time in decades. The two of us, sitting side by side. On an endless journey through the universe.

A little sleepy at times. Still — the universe is vast. And this life, right now, is so precious. My wife and I were deeply moved, together.

These grandchildren — and, through them, the descendants of my grandchildren, a thousand years from now. Precisely because of that — now is the time. Time to fulfill, for worldwide kosen-rufu, the mission that only I can. That resolve rose in me again — great, and firm.

Because she has been beside me — all of this is here

In the middle of a busy time shared with the grandchildren — all kinds of experiences together — my wife and I were able to take that time, just the two of us. That is no small thing. It is, in truth, a rare accomplishment.

Because she has been beside me, our daughters are here. Our grandchildren are here. Because of that — I can dream of our descendants a thousand years ahead. Because of that — the two of us could journey to the very end of the universe. All of it — because she has been beside me. The depth of the love between husband and wife — I feel it now, deeply, again.

Today is August 20 — the second half of 2026 begins

At last, August 20 has come. The second half of 2026 has begun. That is my resolve.

The months and days pass in a flash. I want to hold each single day, one by one, with care.

Everything begins with gratitude!

Yesterday, I lost the wake-up race to my grandchildren. So today — as Super-Jiiji — I could not afford to lose. I found myself up before 4 a.m. Thanks to a refreshing gongyo and daimoku, ideas began to pour out from the early hours. Together with AI, I was able to open a new page.

Let’s Daimoku! Gratitude for everything!
