Shop Tour, September 5 | Restored Soka Gakkai Altars, an LCD Kokū Zushi, and a White Pearl Altar | Oubaitori.com

Hello, everyone. This is Shima, from Oubaitori.com.

It is September 5, 2026. Rain was in the forecast, but outside it had stopped, so today’s Oubaitori.com tour starts out of doors.

Look at this sky. Behind me is the shop. This is our shop. The parking lot. A store that does not look much like a Buddhist altar shop — but this is where we work. We are here in Koga, in Ibaraki, in the Kanto region. Thank you for being with us.

Mr. Kimura rearranged the floor yesterday

Visitors are coming from Gunma today, so yesterday our store manager, Mr. Kimura, rearranged the floor for us. The tables are set out, as always.

This altar was made ready for sale just yesterday. And here, in this corner too. Look — all of these are restored altars. A Kokū Zushi with an LCD. And from here, restored altars again.

A row you will not find anywhere else

And this one is a custom altar, white pearl finish, brand new. It ships in late October.

Look at this. You will not see these standing side by side anywhere else. That is what makes this shop such an interesting place. And a Kongō altar, here in the same room — there is nowhere else you can see them together.

And this one you will not see anywhere in the world. Our own LCD altar. Only here. We were livestreaming from right about here, a little while ago. This is how we do it.

Ah — I forgot to bring this one out. Number 17 is finished. I forgot to set it out. Perhaps I will bring out the stand.

The new-altar corner, and the books

Over here are the new altars. This is the new-altar corner. This is where we keep them.

And the book corner. My own books. They are on Amazon as Kindle editions, and we also sell them here at the shop.

One air conditioner, doing the work of two

We still need the air conditioning. So we keep the air moving inside the shop. The unit on the left is broken, so the one on the right is doing all the work for us.

And that brings the September 5, 2026 Oubaitori.com shop tour to a close. If you have any thoughts, please leave a comment. We will be waiting. Please come and visit the shop.
