A shop tour from the Oubaitori showroom in Koga, Ibaraki.
Over the weekend there was a large earthquake. Then heavy rain.
The water came as far as the green outside our door. It frightened me.
Even so, the shop is unharmed. The Gohonzon protected us. That is how I understand it.
This afternoon, a large altar ships out in eight crates
On the left side of the shop, the packed freight is lined up.
One, two, three… eight crates in all. A large Buddhist altar.
The carrier comes later today, wraps it, and carries it out.
Those cardboard boxes had been sitting low, near the floor.
With the rain coming, we lifted them up so they would not get wet.
We were able to protect them. No water reached them. I am relieved.
And today we film the Kokū Zushi again
From here, we go into filming the Kokū Zushi.
We decided to shoot it over — new, from the beginning.
In these times, no one knows what will happen.
It is one unexpected thing after another.
That is exactly why it begins with Daimoku.
And then, one by one, the things I myself must do. Carefully. Without skipping any.
The LCD altars and the chair-style altars will be filmed later
Here, one, two, three. And one more over there.
The LCD altars stand in a row. So this is how they look.
We will film them in turn.
And this one. Someone has already written to ask: do you have an altar that will hold a jōju Gohonzon — a Gohonzon enshrined permanently in the home?
For this altar too, the conversation about welcoming the Gohonzon is moving forward.
And more than one family has asked us about passing a jōju Gohonzon from parent to child.
This particular altar will not be delivered for a while yet.
Slowly, and properly, we will finish it.

The day Sensei took faith.
There was an earthquake. There was heavy rain. And the shop is open again today.
There is an altar to ship. There is an altar to film. There are people waiting for us.
That alone is more than enough to be grateful for.
